Jerusalem Mill, Md
June 18, 2011 – -
Special thanks to all the Chesapeake and Potomac players and their family and friends who came to Jerusalem Mill on Saturday to support the commmemoration of Gilmor’s raid on the village and surrounding territory in 1864. We met many reenactors and put on an exhibition match that gave several spectators of all ages a chance to sample the early game of base ball.
Please check out the attached photos. In photo #1, Gilmor’s raiders are roaming through right field en route to ”liberating” goods in the village store. In the second photo, the Confederate soldiers are doing a great job keeping the cranks from getting unruly
Thanks again for a great day!
